It's no surprise that gingham is a huge trend for this summer - I mean, it obviously screams picnic, which clearly connotes summer. My main focus when constructing this outfit was this amaaazing Comme des Garçons top - which I managed to snag at a thrift store for $2.99 *gasping emoji*. Trying to stray away from the little girl/Howdy Doody look, I avoided pairing this picnic-print top with any denim. Wanting to take this outfit to the next level, instead of slapping on a pair of solid shorts or a skirt, I decided to do a double gingham-print look white these tapered Forever 21 skinny trousers. Since the scale of the gingham of the top are about 10x the size of that of the pants, the outfit has a contrast, instead of looking like a twosie (matching set).

Wanting to break up the gingham a little, I tied this thrifted white pinstripe Mossimo button down around my waist like a belt. To accentuate the summer-like quality of the outfit, I accessorized with stark white pieces, like my oversized sunnies from Aldo Accessories, Forever 21 paperbag-style clutch, and my tried-and-true pointy loafer flats from Zara's sale section. Feeling like the outfit needed a little touch of jewelry, I adorned my neck with a faux gold and pearl necklace that I stole from my mom's jewelry box. It's supposedly from Accessory Lady, an accessory store that was popular in the '80s, which I'm assuming is an equivalent to Charming Charlie? Based off the pieces my mom bought from AL that I either inherited or heard about, it sounds like a poppin' place to get high-quality fake jewelry for reasonable prices. Anyone ever heard of it?
