Comfort is key in my life - I’m an incredibly lazy person. Heels give me crazy callouses, I get sweaty easily, I’m always walking around for hours on end, and I never have enough time or willpower to put effort into fixing up my hair and makeup before I go about my day. I'm notorious amongst my friends for "never dressing bummy." While majority spend their lazy days in a t-shirt and a pair of sweatpants, I tend to dress otherwise. Basically, the words “sweatpants + t-shirt + Uggs” do not fit into my sartorial vocabulary. Plus, I hate Uggs.

This outfit is essentially a camisole and a stretchy skirt - totally comfortable and incredibly easy to put on and wear. Had I worn these two pieces alone, it would definitely fit under the category of “basic” - and basic is boring. Throwing on an extra layer (keeping it thin since it's warmer out now) like this H&M pinstripe button down adds more interest. Going along with the menswear vibe that the button down gives off mixed with the solid black and gray pieces, I decided to throw on these Zara pleather slip ons (found them in the sale section since I can’t afford regular priced Zara) that remind me of a sandal version of the loafers you’d find on the feet of a businessman in the Financial District. However, we are talking bummy day here, so to give the look a more relaxed feel, I threw on this vintage corduroy Tommy Hilfiger Surfwear cap I stole from my dad’s closet. Since I have incredibly sensitive eyes, I ALWAYS have to have a pair of sunnies on me, so to add some brightness and bring out the white pinstripes of the button down, I threw on these oversized white sunnies (oversized to compensate for my slightly larger than normal head, *laughing emoji*).

On the note of baseball caps - they’re totally perfect for throwing on when you have second (or even third!) -day hair, maybe even consider throwing your hair up in a ponytail and threading it through the back opening of the cap if you’re really not having a good hair day. But contrary to that, to make the look a bit more put together, I swiped on bright lipstick - MAC’s Neon Orange. I feel like the simple act of putting on lipstick (especially a bold color) always gives off the impression that you put a bit more effort into getting ready in the morning - except all you really did was whip out that tube of lipstick/lipgloss and apply.

How do you dress on your not-so-bummy-but-still-bummy days?

- Pia
